15 Exciting Eid Events Across the UK to Celebrate With Your Family and Friends

Eid-al-Fitr is just around the corner! Whatever day you are celebrating, there are an array of activities and events happening across the UK that will ensure your Eid week is fun and happening. 

From events for converts looking for a community to family fun days and funfairs, as well as a special self care event with Lush, here are some unique and exciting events happening across the UK, to help make your Eid extra special.

London 

Starting off with the Capital, London’s bustling and diverse Muslim community has plenty of fun festivities for all the family to enjoy. 

1. Light Upon Light Eid Lunch for Reverts with Mufti Menk

This exclusive event is free for revert Muslims to enjoy a delightful Eid lunch with none other than the renowned Mufti Menk. This is a lovely way to celebrate the festival in the company of other Muslims. Space is limited so make sure you sign up as registration is strictly first come, first served. Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity!

2. Muslim History Bus Tour Eid Special Sunday

Brought to you by Halal Tourism Britain, experience a panoramic bus tour of London’s landmarks, whilst learning about the Muslim History that shaped them. Here you can enjoy live commentary from Britain’s first professionally qualified Muslim tour guide, AbdulMaalik Tailor.

3. London Eid Festival Westfield

The UK’s biggest Eid festival is back again this year and promises to be bigger and better than before. This time the celebrations will be held in not one but two shopping centres, including a brand new location in Stratford. Best part is that it’s completely free to enter.

4. Eid in the Park

Families that pray together, stay together. Experience the barakah in your Eid salah by standing shoulder to shoulder with your community surrounded by the beauty of nature, and in awe of Allah’s creations. And what better way to keep yourself and the little ones entertained this Eid season in a halal and wholesome setting than bringing them to a Masjid hosted event in the park? Let them enjoy an array of bouncy castles and funfair rides, whilst you roam stalls of henna and food galore.

5. Eid in the Square

The Mayor of London is bringing back the iconic ‘Eid in Trafalgar Square’ for the 19th year in 2024 as part of the #LondonForEveryone initiative. The vibrant square will be jam-packed with stalls, performances and awards. And of course, who could resist the aroma of delicious food wafting through the air? The festival is free to enter and open to all.

Manchester 

Moving on to Manchester where there’s a large and vibrant Muslim community running events. 

6. Hunt & Feed: An Eid al-Fitr Adventure 

Get your detective hat on and your magnifying glass ready to embark on this thrilling Eid adventure. Every step and clue deciphered will go towards providing school meals to ensure no child is left hungry beyond Ramadan. There is no registration fee required but participants are encouraged to fundraise £50 as individuals or £150 as a group.

7. Walk with Macfest and Eid Picnic

This event supports Manchester Walking Festival in May which aims to foster the joy of walking, build cultural bridges, and promote social and community cohesion in a dynamic way. After a relaxing walk around the park, enjoy a ‘Macfest’ picnic with food from around the world. Open to Muslim and non-Muslim communities. Tickets cost £5.

8. Eid Science Extravaganza

The Science and Industry Museum is hosting a one-day science festival for the whole family. This event will combine the excitement of Eid with the wonders of science, exploring the scientific reasons behind Eid traditions, like the lunar phases and henna dye. Have a go at creating mind-blowing solar-powered Eid cards, exploring interactive exhibits, watching fascinating demonstrations and hands-on workshops that make learning fun.

Birmingham 

For our Brummie Muslims, the city is brimming with exciting events to book your tickets for.

9. Eid Celebration with Korean Beauty and Indonesian street food

Elevate your self-care routine whilst indulging in Indonesian delicacies in this relaxing restaurant. This event will be showcasing a variety of Korean beauty and health products for you to browse, from skin-care, hair treatments and healthy supplements.

10. Deaf World’s Eid Party 2024

Deaf World is a UK charity that aims to enable and empower deaf and hard hearing young people to access opportunities. They are inviting everyone to join in with their Eid celebration with a day of fun and games. Get ready to be blown away by a deaf magician and a deaf comedian, as well as a visual vernacular special guest. Lunch will also be provided and henna artists are available. Tickets cost only £1.

Luton

There is tons of fun happening in Luton to keep you and your family entertained this Eid.

11. Inspire Eid Festival

A two-day family extravaganza is taking place at Lewsey Park in Luton. There will be performances by Hamza Khan, Shamas Khan, Mikhaael Mala, Zain Khan and Mohammed Esa. With funfair rides at their lowest prices (£1-2), delicious world food, games and entertainment,there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Bath 

There’s no better place to treat yourself to a bath than in Bath with this Eid self-care day.

12. LUSH Female only Spa day

In celebration of Lush’s new Eid range, the ethical soap brand is opening its doors to women for a relaxing day of facials, full-body treatments and scalp massages. They are open to walk-ins and bookings for the day to help you relax in a female-only safe space. Every spa client will receive a complimentary goodie bag with samples from their Eid collection.

13. Eid Festival in Victoria Park

Join a family day out filled with prayer and celebrations this Eid in accordance to the sunnah. You and your loved ones could be jumping for joy on these bouncy castles and sliding into the holiday with style on funfair rides. The event has hosted more than 25,000 attendees in the past and is offered freely to all communities in Leicester.

14. Girls Eid Dinner

Haqq Sisters are hosting a memorable “Girl Dinner” in a private room at 3five1 restaraunt. This sister-only exclusive event is open to all ages and will offer a mouthwatering menu. Parking is available on site and tickets cost only £2, but each attendee will have to pay for their own food expenses.

Glasgow 

There’s lots of giggles in store for Glasgow post-Eid with this comedy special coming to Scotland. 

15. The Muslims Are Coming

Go to Glasgow for a day of laughs with this star-studded lineup: Tez Ilyas (Mock The Week BBC, Comedy Central), Faizan Shah (Comedy Store Gong Winner, BBC New Comedy), Muhsin Yesilada (One Minute Smoke) and Nabil Abdulrashid (BBC Live At The Apollo, ITV Stand Up Sketch Show). The show promises a night of “halal-irity” with belly laughs big enough to burn off your biriyani. Over 18+s only.
