Tension and clashes between Dogon hunters and semi-nomadic Fulani herders have often occurred in Central Mali, the disputes are often over land and water, but this Saturday the Dogan hunters approached and attacked the villagers in the Fulani community, killing over 130 and burning homes down to the ground, there have been additional reports that the attack was described as a massacre as pregnant women, children, and even animals were killed. The attack took place in the early hours of dawn and the men were reported to be wearing traditional Dogon hunter clothing.
Pregnant women, children, the elderly, even animals, hacked & burned – the depravity of this weekend's massacre in Mali. On the brink of genocide, with the state encouraging armed militias to take things into their own hands, may God protect the Fulanihttps://t.co/thLS0VpWNk

The attacks took place whilst UN officials were meeting in Mali to discuss recent rises in violence in the region.
There are reports that Mali’s military are arming and equipping the Dogon hunter tribes with means to attack.

134 Fulani were massacred in an attack on their village this past week in central Mali. Their attackers surrounded their village at dawn, killed most people, including the children, in their homes, and then burned down those homes and whatever else they could. #MaliMassacre pic.twitter.com/bBHJiLJeZW

So innocent women, elderly people and young children were targeted in Mali ethnic attack in Fulani village, 130 lives were taken and there’s no media coverage? Inna lilahi wa inna ilayhi raji'oon. We came as strangers and we will leave as strangers. This world has no place for us
