25 year old Eman Idil Bare has just launched her first collection at New York Fashion Week.
The award winning journalist, law student and now fashion designer crowdfunded her SS19 collection, an ethical fashion line and a beautiful celebration of women of colour that’s been over two years in the making.
On Eman’s kickstarter page, the designer recalls her 23 year old self filling up her car with fabrics and patterns, and dropping them off at houses where she was working with female refugees who farmed part of her initial team.
The law student, who is of Somalian and Ethiopian heritage, hopes to one day abolish the sale of sweatshop clothing Canada.
