A woman suggested you should be able to fast and pray salah whilst on your period this Ramadan. She received a flurry of messages from Muslim women and men clarifying a few reasons why women are exempt and that women can still worship Allah without praying.
Oh and by the way, she can still sit and remember Allah ta’ala. Dhikr is not forbidden in any state. And du’as too. And giving charity. And studying Islam. And meditation. And tasbeehs. And zakat. And durood, salawat.
Hope you find peace within yourself this month. Salaam! ✌????

Don't know about other Muslim women, but not having to fast when you have cramps are in pain and feeling irritable just wanting to munch on some chocolate is a blessing.

I don’t think menstruating women wanna fast!!!

This is not about “rights.” This about the bodies of women already being in a state of CONSTANT WORSHIP while menstruating making extra performative worship unnecessary and even a form of oppression.

I am all about love and peace but I was really pissed off because she could’ve asked/googled and found the answer but she still talked like this whole thing isn’t good for women but against them.

: The reason why Allaah has forbidden menstruating women to fast at the time of their period is out of mercy towards them, because loss of blood weakens them and if a woman were to fast when menstruating, she would be weakened both by menstruation and by fasting
