On one Friday, the Rasool ﷺ said: “O Muslims! Allāh has made this day a day of eid. So have a bath on this day, whoever has perfume should apply it, and use the miswaak. ” (Ibn Majah)
The blessings and virtues on a Friday are innumerable! Below are a few profound sayings of the Rasool ﷺ about the day and some things we should aim to do in hope of attaining beautiful things from Allāh ﷻ!
1. “Any man who performs ghusl on Friday, perfumes himself if he has perfume, wears the best of his clothes, then goes to the mosque and offers as many prayers as he wishes while not harming anybody, then listens quietly while the Imaam speaks until he offers the prayer, will have all his sins between that Friday and the next forgiven.” (Al-Bukhari).
A beautiful and simple way to attain the forgiveness of Allāh.
2. “Whoever recites Surah al-Kahf on Jumu’ah will have a light shining from him from one Jumu’ah to the next.” (Al-Haakim and Al-Bayhaqi)
So read Surah Kahf in hope of attaining this light!
3.”Frequently send salutations to me on Friday during the day and night. Whoever sends one salutation to me, Allāh will send ten to him.” (Al-Bayhaaqi)
So remember to invoke our beloved messenger abundantly! It is narrated in Tirmidhi that those who send the most blessings upon the Rasool ﷺ will be amongst those who are closest to him on the Day of Resurrection!
4.”Friday is comprised of twelve hours. There is one in which a Muslim who asks Allāh for something will have it granted to him. Seek it in the last hour after Asr (an hour before Maghrib.” (Abu Dawood)
Whatever it is that your heart seeks, have conviction in Him and in the saying of the Rasool ﷺ and call unto Him in this hour – don’t miss out on this golden opportunity to have your du’ās answered!
We ask that He accepts all your du’ās and grants you the best and most beautiful of things on this blessed day!
