19-year-old Halima Aden, a Somali-American model first came into prominence when she became the first Miss Minnesota contestant to take part in the competition while wearing a Hijab. Since then Halima has been signed onto IMG model agency and has appeared on Milan’s catwalk and Kanye West’s Yeezy’s show.
Last week, Halima was announced as the cover star for Vogue Arabia’s June issue and below is a collection of our favourite reactions to this groundbreaking news.
