The Benefits of Pears in Your Diet

We decided to stay with the humble pear, available in abundance during this season and a great nutrition fuelled fruit which is often under valued!

  • Pears have a good amount of fibre which is essential for gut health. Due to the texture of the fibre, often referred to as gritty in combines and effectively picks up Cancer causing toxins and chemicals in the colon and ensure they don’t come in contact with the mucous membrane which could contribute to cancer.  Amazing right! I know. A pear a day!
  • If your looking for a healthy snack, reach for a pear, they are low calorie and the fibre helps to fill you.
  • Good amount of Vitamin C is in each pear.
  • In addition to Vitamin C, pears contain Copper, Iron, Potassium as well as folates.
  • Pears have been suggested in various traditional medicines in the treatment of colitis, chronic gallbladder disorders, arthritis, and gout.
