About You
This role requires a self-starter with a strong work ethic that is able to work independently but also to collaborate and work alongside our award-winning team to serve our community.
This role will be right for someone who has previous experience of managing/leading on content for Instagram and who is now looking for both a new challenge and a space to apply all that they have learned. We are looking for a creative mind, someone who can come up with ideas and execute them, and someone who understands what is and isn’t working. Attention to detail is key to this role, alongside being able to meet commercial objectives and deadlines. Here’s more about the kind of person we are looking for:
You’re Experienced
- Proven experience of growing following and driving engagement on Instagram.
- Proven experience of generating fresh and engaging multimedia content (graphics, video, typography etc) using Canva and/or other design software.
- 2-3 years of experience working in social media and content creation, ideally for an agency or brand.
- Comfortable working at most levels from content planning and research, writing copy, creating content, executing and then evaluating.
You’re a great communicator
- Excellent copywriter that is able to write compelling copy for social channels, taking into account Amaliah’s brand tone and audience.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to present ideas succinctly and effectively.
- You can build and maintain good relationships with a wide variety of people.
And an even greater listener
- You have your ear to the ground. You understand our audience and the community we speak to. You understand the power that content has in being able to build a community.
- You know how to read the room on tone and delivery on socials.
- You’re constantly trying to learn more about our community and audience; what conversations are taking place in our community? What content is our community loving? What would our community like to see more of? Your listening skills will help you to find the answers to all these questions and more.
- You are able to use social listening to inform strategic planning.
- You engage online with community spaces, perhaps run your own grassroots platform/space or are passionate about specific communities.
- You use social media and understand our audience well on it, you keep up to date with our audience interests, Twitter and Instagram and perhaps TikTok (but not essential).

- You keep up to date with the latest Instagram trends and features and use this to inform your work and content output.
You have a creative mindset with high attention to detail
- You’re a creative at heart with a great eye for design. You’re able to create branded assets that will re-fresh Amaliah’s brand image while keeping with our brand guidelines.
- You have a proven track record of creativity in your portfolio. Your job is to come up with ideas and execute on them.
- We’re not looking for a professional designer, but you should be able to produce assets using tools like Canva using templates and also have an understanding of basic design principles.
- You’re someone who is able to turn in tasks on time with a fast turnaround, without compromising on detail and quality.
- You can work creatively with the resources you have at your disposal.
You’re organised and efficient
- You’re a doer that has a bias for action and is willing to experiment – at Amaliah, we don’t micromanage and we tend to ask for forgiveness vs. permission so we’re looking for someone that embodies that mindset.
- You’re not just a planner/thinker but someone who can follow through on their plans and ideas.
- We occasionally work with clients that require timely high-quality execution of campaigns so you need to be organised and someone who is able to execute ideas on time.
